What we collect and why
When you contact us through the website form, by phone or by email, we collect:
Your name, email address and phone number, so we can reply to you
Whether you are self-funding or insured, and your insurer, so we can explain fees and authorisation
Your preferred hospital, so we can offer a suitable appointment
Any information you choose to include in your message
We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, arrange your appointment and provide your care. Please don't send scans or detailed medical records through the website form; we will arrange a secure way to receive them if needed.
If you become a patient, we will also hold the medical information needed to assess and treat you, as part of your clinical record.
Our legal basis
We use your contact details to respond to your request and to take steps, at your request, towards providing your care (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), or for our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
Where your information includes details about your health, we process it for the purposes of medical diagnosis and treatment by a health professional who owes you a duty of confidentiality (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(h) and the Data Protection Act 2018, Schedule 1). This means we don't need to ask for your consent simply to reply to you or arrange your care.
We will never use your information for marketing without your separate consent, and we never sell your information.
Who sees your information
Your information is seen only by people who need it to help you:
Lisa Green (Consultant Admin), who provides Mr Raymond's secretarial service under a written agreement covering confidentiality and data security
Squarespace, which hosts this website and processes form submissions on our behalf. Some of its systems may be outside the UK; where they are, they are protected by appropriate legal safeguards
Our email providers, who handle messages we send and receive
The hospital where you are seen, Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital or Circle Harbour Hospital, Poole, if you book an appointment. Each hospital is responsible for the information it holds and has its own privacy notice
Other professionals involved in your care, such as your GP, physiotherapist or radiologist, where this is needed for your treatment
Your insurer, if you are insured and have asked us to arrange treatment through your policy
We may also share information where the law requires it.
How long we keep your information
Enquiries that don't lead to an appointment: deleted after 12 months
Patient records: kept for at least 8 years after your last appointment, or indefinitely where a procedure has been performed.
How we keep it safe
We use secure, password-protected systems with two-step sign-in, and only people who need your information to help you can see it. Website forms are sent over an encrypted connection.
Your rights
You have the right to:
Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
Ask us to restrict or stop using your information in certain circumstances
Object to how we use your information
Ask for your information to be transferred to another provider
To make a request, contact Lisa Green using the details above. We will usually respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
Some rights are limited for medical records; for example, we may need to keep records for a set period even if you ask us to delete them. We will explain this if it applies.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office:
